Today’s prompt is asking about my most expensive bill last month. I didn’t have one. Like most Americans, during January we are struggling to overcome the excess that Christmas brings each end of the year. January is a time for saving and that is exactly what I did.
Five years ago (wow) Busy and I wanted to cut back on all the outings and spending so we vowed to spend zero during the month of February. Groceries, bills, etc. were not counted as spending. We cut back on the coffee runs and bookstore visiting. I believe around this time is when my library card got the most use it’s ever seen. The day before we started:
24 hours left before the cleanse. The shortest month is going to last forever.

It was a successful venture but I didn’t learn any lessons from this experiment. I believe the first of March I went out to celebrate, or to just get some coffee and flirt with my favorite barista.
