I am one of those people that would much rather listen to an album than watch a movie or television show. Music transforms my moods. My mood shapes what music is played. It is a magical, wonderful thing–music.
When I say music, what pops into your head?
I use to listen to music on Pandora religiously, before their upgrades and ads. I still occasionally listen to my custom station, tLa’s mix, but not nearly as often as I log in to my iHeartRadio app. I have a Kindle Fire and when I am reading I like to listen to music in the background.
Where/how do you listen to music?
At night as I am falling asleep I listen to acoustic songs or ambient music (like rainymood). Right now my mood has been bouncing between 90’s music and the newest Modest Mouse album, Strangers to Ourselves.
Tonight I am finishing a book for book club (because I am so behind) while listening to either a Blur or Modest Mouse playlist on youtube (another great place to listen to music).
Who is on your playlist?
Tomorrow I will_____
I will make a to-do list and get things done. I get behind staying organized when life gets busy, so tomorrow is my catch up day to get back on schedule.
The week is almost over and so is January. I cannot believe that the first month is nearly gone. “Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans.” (Allen Saunders)
Twenty-eight days into 2015 and it feels okay. I feel like I have kept on task, for the most part, and stuck to my resolutions. I do wish I had more reading accomplished but I am not rushing myself through my Goodreads challenge; it states that I am still currently on track which is good enough for me. I have changed a few goals and added others to balance the tasks I have dropped but in my mind it’s all “even-steven”.
Tomorrow I have the house to myself in the morning. This means I will get to listen to some 90’s music while I tidy up the living quarters. Tomorrow is also laundry day, one of my least favorite days. If I could buy new clothes and just throw out my used ones I would. That is how much I like doing laundry. My head would explode if I ever tried that tactic; I hate wasting anything.
Tonight I’m going to listen to my 90’s music radio station to prepare my mood for tomorrow.
Do you have a genre of music or particular artist/band that puts you in a good mood?
The best part of today was the weather. There is a light rain with little wind and it is warmer than it has been. Above freezing is always a pleasant surprise in January. The only down side to this weather, and winter in general, is the activities are restricted to indoors.
Today being indoors is ideal for the plans I have made. Rainy days are perfect for reading. I’m catching up on my TBR pile and making some progress on my reading challenge. I’ve found a few books I’d like to read this year and I’m getting my letters knocked out (I’m reading books A-Z, a letter for the title or author). Next on my list, after I finish Austen, is this classic:
What are your favorite activities for rainy days?
Not much happens to me but there is something about the weekend that cheers you up. The last couple of Saturdays I’ve been able to go to some yard sales. I haven’t found much, but enjoy the searching.
What’s your best find from a yard sale? I really enjoy my Lisa Loeb CD I snagged a few years ago at a sale in Springfield.
