August means the last full month of summer and two full weeks of state fair celebration. Ever since we moved to Missouri, my family and I would attend the state fair each year building a tradition. About a decade ago when my sister graduated from high school (geez, I feel old now) the tradition faded into a rare appearance at the fair.
I’m travelling home for a few weeks next month and would love to fit in a visit to the fair. Besides the must haves of funnel cake, corn dogs, and weird things deep fried, I like visiting the state fair to reminisce the good old days.
I hope everyone celebrating is safe and responsible. Happy Independence Day!
Tonight I’m watching this movie while eating birthday cake. Happy birthday, BIL. It’s a day full of win.
Today is best friend day so this post is dedicated to Busy. I miss you and love you. Someday we’ll live on the same continent again.
I recently announced a milestone for myself and this blog. I have been on WP for a whole year now (and I’m nearly halfway through 2015 and still reaching my goal of updating daily). Today I bought myself a gift to celebrate the occasion. It is quite fitting since the traditional way to honor an anniversary in the first year is paper.
Today was a good day and now I am off to color.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, young and old–to humans or fur babies. You are the glue that keeps society moving.
One day I will be in New Orleans on Mardi Gras. Until then I’ll celebrate in my own way. Here’s one from 2010.
