Hooked

I finished the first five seasons on Netflix this past weekend and now I’m caught up with the newest season on abcFamily. I’m hooked on this show and now I get to wait it out each week until the new episode airs. Talk about torture. The summer finale is coming up so I will get to return to my “regular scheduled programming” again. ūüôā

Bingeworthy

My weekend has been full of Netflix during downtime. I have been in between shows and full of boredom (summer woes). I just started PLL and am surprised how fast I am in to it. The show has been on my radar I just haven’t been in the mood to watch it. I guess that is what summer is all about.

Down Time

With a bit of time on my hands this weekend I am treating myself to the couch potato life. I have been reading from my TBR pile (trying to make a dent in my 2015 list). I am almost caught up on the television shows I have queued on Netflix. The last thing I am indulging in are movies.

I watched Cake (which I enjoyed and may have shed a tear or two) yesterday and tonight I finally got around to Gone Girl.

I read the book in April but did not get around to watching the film until now. It was well executed. I recommend getting the author to write the screenplay.

Which book to film projects have you seen? tell me if it was a hit or miss.

¬†Top Ten Books I’d Love To See As Movies/TV Shows

I did a similar topic about 5 weeks ago about characters that deserve their own show/movie so if you read that some of these answers below will overlap.

The Little Lady Agency (The Little Lady Agency, #1)Little Lady, Big Apple (The Little Lady Agency, #2)The Little Lady Agency and the Prince (The Little Lady Agency, #3)

This series is a set that needs a movie or two. Half Bridget Jones (the sass and wit) and half The Princess Diaries (the charm), Melissa Romney-Jones had me rooting for her since the first chapter. She’s an extremely likable character and her story needs some screen time. The entire time I was reading these books it felt like I was watching a Lifetime movie (or something similar). This series has all the qualities of a good rom-com, Hollywood make this happen.

Spooky Little Girl

I think this book would make a great indie film. I am a fan of Notaro’s humor essays; her wit cuts like a knife. I would probably watch anything inspired by her work.

Matched (Matched, #1)Crossed (Matched, #2)Reached (Matched, #3)

I guess like the YA dystopian legend before this book, I should mention that this would make an entertaining movie trilogy and that I would probably watch it even though I thought the book were good, not great.

the last year series

Whispers in Autumn and the rest of the Last Year series would make an interesting TV show. I would probably only want 4 seasons of the show which would tie nicely into the premise of the books (the four seasons of the year are even a character).

This was a bit of a challenge since a handful of the books I have read are already in the process of being made for television or movie screen. And many of my favorites were made into movies long ago.

What Time Is It?

I am addicted to a kid’s show. There, I said it, I admit it. I like the Bubble Guppies.

I have been watching during the week with my niece and I enjoy it more and more each day. I think the one reason I like it so much is this song. Mr. Grouper’s Line Up song is one of the best things ever. It’s so catchy.

The show is pretty cute and the story lines are entertaining but I really like the music in the show.

Top Ten Books Which Feature Characters Who

Paper Towns

 Deserve Their Own Television Show

Margo Roth Spiegelman from Paper Towns is a natural for the attention of being a leading lady. She is powerful and determined which would translate to the television screen as a strong female role. I am thinking a cross of Rory Gilmore and Blair Waldorf–smart, cool, and in charge.
The Help
Minny Jackson from The Help would give Dr. Phil a run for his money. I think she would make an excellent talk show host. Her bluntness is the best thing about her, in my opinion.

The Little Lady Agency (The Little Lady Agency, #1)All of the characters from The Little Lady Agency should have their own show. The adventures that Melissa experiences during the series is a sitcom in the making.

Lisbeth Salander from¬†The¬†Millennium¬†series¬†is tThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1)he perfect character for a lead role in an action show.¬†She’s a kick butt now, ask questions later kind of girl. Think Sydney Bristow¬†from Alias or Buffy Summers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Into the WildAn ideal candidate for a reality TV show would be the character from a nonfiction book like Into the Wild.¬†Christopher McCandless’¬†story is one that stuck with me long after reading the book. He could be the host of a nature/adventure show.

  • Peeta from¬†The Hunger Games¬†should have his own show on Food Network.
  • Amy from¬†Gone Girl¬†would be a great new contestant for a Real Housewives of Missouri.
  • Will Grayson, Will Grayson‘s¬†Tiny Cooper may have his own story now in¬†Hold Me Closer but he’d be fabulous in his own television show.
  • Dan Brown’s¬†Robert Langdon would make crime/thriller shows more enjoyable.
  • Hagrid is one character I would love to learn more about from¬†The Harry Potter series.¬†I know I’m not alone.

This Top Ten Tuesday list topic is brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week yields a new topic and a new list. Thanks for stopping in this week to check out my list*.ttt

*I understand some of these books and their stories have already been made into movies which I have enjoyed. Some stories we can’t get enough of which inspired my list.
